Hi I'm dawn I'm with a 1 forklift today I'm going to be demonstrating a daily PRE trip inspection on a forklift OSHA requires that a daily inspection be performed on every single piece of equipment that's operated daily what we're going to do is we're going to start here with the right front fork what we're looking for are well brakes next we're going to look at our front tire and what we're looking for chunks of rubber that are missing from the tire moving on we're going to look at our piston to ensure we don't have any leaks or drips we'll look at our hydraulic hoses to ensure we don't have any punctures or cuts to make sure the tension of our chain is nice and tight looking at the character of our forklift what we're looking for are well brakes checking to see that our seatbelt is in good repair looking at our rear tire again looking to make sure you don't have any chunks of rubber remove from your tire moving on to the rear of your forklift you're going to check the propane tank to ensure that it's on nice and tight not loose next we're going to look at our radiator to ensure we haven't picked up any debris or trash moving on to the left side of our forklift we're going to check our tire looking for missing rubber we're going to check our carriage looking for well breaks we're now back at our front tire again looking for missing rubber checking our piston to make sure we don't have any leaks or drifts checking our hydraulic hose looking for punctures and cuts and checking to make sure our chain is nice and tight we're back where we started, so now we're checking our left Fork making sure we don't have any weld breaks well now get on the forklift to make sure that our emergency brake is working correctly when entering a forklift we always have three points of contact wearing a seat belt does not leave to the discretion of the operator it must be worn 100% of the time I'm now going to put my foot on the brake I'm going to turn the forklift on I'm going to put it in forward here I'm going to take my foot off the brake if your forklift doesn't move forward and stays in its position your attention on your emergency brake is perfect I'm going to check my controls everything seems to be in good repair I'm going to put my foot back on the brake I'm going to put my forklift in neutral I'm going to set my emergency brake I'm going to turn it off and this concludes our inspection and after inspecting if any item is found to be unsafe or needing repair the forklift needs to be taken out of service red-tagged until repaired thanks for visiting forklift
